I realize I've used this picture quite a few times. Although I can't remember the exact caption, it's basically the same. I keep using it, though, because it tickles me.

| "I don't know about you guys, but I'm exhausted. Plus, who thought it was a great idea to wear wool coats when it's like the frikkin' sun outside? Anyway, lunch. General Washington, what ab...oh, wait. He's not here. Sucks to be him. Still, he's probably not sweating his balls off, wherever he is. Adams, I got you for a BLT with chips...seriously, do you need bacon, Chubs? Why not have a salad? Jefferson, chicken salad on a croissant with dijon mustard...that figures, Frenchy. You like dark meat, right? Madison, turkey sandwich with a pickle...sounds kinda phallic, don'tcha think? Franklin, you want fish and chips. Fish and chips??? Look, I know you're as old as Delegate Biden, but do you even KNOW what we're doing here, Ben??" |
By the way, notice I wrote "Happy Independence Day" vice "Happy 4th of July." Because, how many countries have the 4th of July?
All of them.

| Thaaaattttt's right. |
NOTE: Despite my snark, there is ZERO evidence that James Madison was gay. Sure, he was a little fella, but so is Peter Dinklage and he's not gay. As far as I know.
Nah, I wouldn't question Madison. But if we're talking presidents, I'm noticing Buchanan's lack of a wife...
ReplyDeleteI just ragged on "Gemmy" because he was the shortest president. Not that it would matter to me, but Buchanan's choice of dancing partner was suspect. More importantly, he was a sucky president (he would make my top 5 of lousy Chief Executives). His best known quote was, to Lincoln, "Good luck with that."
DeleteIt would be interesting to know how many closeted folks from the Past there were... too bad it has taken so very long for people to just feel free to be who they are without fear or persecution. We've still got so far to go tho', and America seems to be going backwards on Human and Civil Rights now. I enjoyed my 4th of July in spite of not feeling particularly Proud of our Country due to it's current Leadership.
ReplyDeleteI agree. What an absolute shame that people had to hide their true natures.
DeleteI love the idea of saying Happy Independence Day instead of Happy Forth of July. Your reason for doing so is both simple and profound.
ReplyDeleteI often correct people when they say "Happy 4th of July," even though I know what they mean.
DeleteYeah, I guess I'm fun at parties.
